Profile

Wole is an award-winning anchor, producer and former West Africa editor at CNBC Africa. He is the presenter of CNBC Africa’s daily markets preview programme Open Exchange West. Until April 2018, he was a Fellow responsible for Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Engagement at the Nigeria Economic Summit Group, Nigeria’s leading think-tank focused on advocacy and intervention for a more open and competitive business environment. He remains a technical anchor/secretary (volunteer) and played a leading role in the creation of the Finance, Financial Markets and Financial Inclusion Policy Commission (FINPC) of the NESG.

Wole studied at the University of Lagos, Nigeria where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance. This cultivated his keen interest in economics and financial markets. Over a decade, Wole was the Head of Investment Research at FSDH Securities, Lead Capital, Afrinvest and PHB Asset Management. He also had a brief stint as head of investor relations at the former Bank PHB.  He joined CNBC Africa in June 2010 and, until August 2017, was the Markets Editor for West Africa, managing the editorial team and responsible for news/content from the region. He was also the presenter of Mind your Business, a radio show focused on entrepreneurship in Nigeria.

Prior to joining CNBC Africa, Wole was a frequent speaker/panellist at investment conferences in Nigeria and South Africa. Additionally, between 2002 and 2007 he was a freelance analyst for the Economic Intelligence Unit, writing/contributing to several reports including the Nigeria Country Commerce and Country Finance reports.

 Wole has conducted over a thousand interviews, including high profile business and political leaders.

Wole is a highly sought-after event host and moderator of panel discussions on a wide range of business topics. He has moderated numerous live/recorded dialogues and events that featured African business and political leaders as well as many international speakers including the Annual Presidential Dialogue at the Nigeria Economic Summit, the World Economic Forum on Africa, Afrexim Bank annual meetings, Intra-Africa Trade Fair, All Africa Business Leaders Award; panel discussions at events organised by the Africa Development Bank, Africa Export-Import Bank and many others.
